How Do I Get Started?

Learn the step-by-step guide to begin your flight training at the GPTC.

Discovery Flight

If you’re interested in flight training, but have never flown before, book a discovery flight for a tailored first taste. The lesson includes about a 45 minutes flight with a certified flight instructor. During the flight, you will learn how to control the airplane, and then you will have the opportunity to fly the airplane yourself! We also offer gift certificates.

Software Tip

Inside Flight Schedule Pro, it’s best to view the schedule in the day vertical view, so that the planes and instructors are in columns. We typically book for 2 hour lesson blocks, with the plane and the flight instructor. If you have any issues with the scheduling system, call us.

Ground School

You can purchase our recommended ground school kit here when you’re ready to start learning. You don’t have to complete ground school before starting flight lessons; it’s best to study both simultaneously.
